On 22 October 2026, German Sparkassenstiftung Moldova (DSIK) officially launched the Farm Management Toolbox (FMT) in the Republic of Moldova. Hosted by the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), at the Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences, the event brought together around 90 participants, including representatives of public institutions, academia and the agricultural sector.
The opening remarks were delivered by Sergiu Popa, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences at UTM; Andrian Digolean, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova; and Wulf Schmieder, Director of DSIK Moldova.
Agricultural expert Anatolie Ignat presented the application, explaining its purpose, intended user groups and usage costs. He also demonstrated how the platform works and introduced the people involved in its development.
FMT provides digital tools for crop rotation planning, fertilisation management, soil fertility and CO₂ emissions monitoring, AI-powered agricultural advice and agricultural data integration. These features aim to help farmers make informed decisions, optimise resource use and adopt more sustainable farming practices.
The event also included a question-and-answer session, allowing participants to explore the platform’s practical applications and ask questions.
Farmers are invited to register and independently test the platform: https://fmtools.app/
FMT aims to support the modernisation of agriculture in the Republic of Moldova and help farmers prepare for requirements associated with the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
