On 19 November, 15 experts from AIPA and ARAC participated in a specialised training on "Sustainable Agriculture" organized by the German Sparkassenstiftung Moldova.
The training was specifically designed for experts who will provide Extension Service to farmers in the future. One focus was on the requirements that farmers have to face in the context of the introduction of the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
The training covered a wide range of key topics, including
- Sustainable farming practices for different crops
- Crop rotation rules and techniques
- Appropriate and efficient use of fertilizers and pesticides
- Efficient use of limited natural resources (land, water, seed, etc.)
- EU CAP requirements (documentation, reporting, etc.)
The event took place at the German Sparkassenstiftung office and was facilitated by two local experts, Anatolie Ignat and Pavel Covali. Following this workshop, GSM plans to organize further trainings (and also training of trainers - ToT) to expand the pool of experts for training students and farmers, as well as for providing Extension Service to farmers and agribusinesses upon request.
